On hot summer days, the Sava Bohinjka, which runs right alongside the campsite, is a great place to cool off. The water is crystal clear and its current invites you to enjoy the natural water slides. There is a beach next to the River, where you can relax with a magnificent view of the mighty mountains. An idyllic location for all generations!
In summer you can also use the tennis courts at the campsite. Bookings can be made online, enquire at reception for further information and to make payments. Own equipment is required.
Pickleball is also available at the campsite. This popular and fun game is suitable for all generations. You can play on two outdoor courts on the football field behind the reception or in Danica Hall, where one indoor court is available.
The indoor court is also a great choice in case of bad weather.
Danica Hall is open daily in July and August from:
9:00–12:00 and 16:00–21:00.
Sports equipment rental is also available.
We have been awarded the Cyclist-Friendly Campsite certificate, as we provide cyclists with useful information, refreshments at Pub Allo Allo, access to bicycle tools, as well as the campsite’s washing and drying machines.
During the summer season, bicycles can also be rented at the reception, allowing you to set off on new adventures around Bohinj and the surrounding area. Mountain bikes, children’s bikes and electric bikes are available. Helmet rental is included in the price.
The Bohinj Aquapark boasts a wide range of pools, saunas, massages and much more for fun in the water or for pampering and relaxing. The summer outdoor terrace is perfect for sunbathing, while in winter you can relax on the sun loungers, look up at the panoramic roof, and watch snowflakes falling outside. Tickets for the aquapark can be purchased at camp reception and you can even get a 10% discount voucher for swimming in the pools.
The mountains, which feel so close from the campsite, can also be explored on your own with suitable equipment and proper preparation. Camp Danica is an excellent starting point for family hikes to scenic viewpoints as well as for mountain tours. The Juliana Trail, a 267-kilometre circular long-distance hiking trail, also passes close by.
You can also try your hand at fishing in Lake Bohinj, which is home to at least 16 species of fish. Fishing licences for Lake Bohinj can be purchased at the campsite reception and you can enjoy fishing from dawn to dusk. Licences for fly-fishing enthusiasts are also available at the camp reception, for fishing in the area from the outflow of Lake Bohinj to the road bridge in Bohinjska Bistrica.
In need of an adrenaline rush that will also cool you down on hot days? Try canyoning in the Grmečica or Jerečica gorges and experience water in a new and unique way.
Rafting is an exciting activity that has been thrilling the young and old alike for many years. It is suitable for small and large groups and everyone is welcome, from beginners to more experienced adrenaline junkies.
If you love nature and animals, want to try something new, or want to get to know Bohinj in an interesting, old-fashioned way, off-road horse riding is the perfect choice for you. Get acquainted with horses up close and let them take you on an adventure like you have never experienced before.
Would you like to experience Bohinj from the very heart of the amphitheatre of mountains and lake? Take a panoramic boat ride and enjoy the silence of Triglav National Park.
For holders of the Julian Alps Card: Bohinj, the first panoramic boat ride is free of charge.
In suitable weather conditions, you can enjoy a tandem paragliding flight with an experienced instructor. No previous experience is required. Your paragliding instructor will explain what to do at the take-off site and upon landing. You can also choose a Helio tandem flight, which combines two experiences in one package: a helicopter flight and a tandem paragliding flight.
